Rob van de Wouw (* 1975 in Esbeek ) is a Dutch jazz trumpeter and composer.

Rob van de Wouw studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Jarmo Hoogendijk until 2003 (as well as classes with Benjamin Herman and Eric Vloeimans ). While still a student he founded the B&W quintet with trombonist Louk Boudesteijn , which was selected for a workshop in 2002 at Carnegie Hall in New York with David Liebman , Steve Turre , Rufus Reid , Kenny Barron and with whom he performed at the 2002 North Sea Jazz Festival performed. He recorded with the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, founded by himself and trombonist Louk Boudesteijn in 2004, with his and Boudesteijn's B&W quintet ( It's about time , 2005) and released the albums Reboot your Soul (Embrace Recordings, 2006), Tunnelvision (2009, received an Edison Award) and Neon (2012) under its own name. In 2007 he performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival.

He plays in different styles, from nu-jazz (like on the album Tunnelvision ), works with Latin-jazz groups and mixes funk and soul like on his debut album Reboot your Soul , which arose from the urban jazz project with which he was in the Rotterdam club Rotown performed regularly.

He has a daughter with actress and singer Georgina Verbaan .

In 2011 he received the audience award of the Edison Jazz Award .
