Band history

Ben Trokan and Steven Mercado have been friends since childhood and grew up in Poughkeepsie , a town in western Dutchess County in New York State. After high school Trokan moved to New York City, where he met Tomer Danan and made music with him. In Poughkeepsie, Mercado met Jeremy Phillips, an old school friend. The four of them began performing together in the summer of 2002, called themselves Robbers on High Street, and released a single in 2003. In 2004 the band released their first EP Fine Lines on New Line Records and in 2005 the debut album Tree City followed . In 2004 and 2005 the Robbers toured the States. In 2005 Phillips left the band and was replaced by Morgan King, who can also play brass instruments and shows this on stage. Since 2006 the band has been supported by Matt Trowbridge and Dave Sherman on keyboards during live performances. After Danan left the band in August 2006, Mikey Post took over the drums at live concerts. In 2006 the second EP came out and in 2007 the band's second album Grand Animals was released. The rest of the year the group went on a promotional tour.
