Robert Bürchler-Messer (born May 28, 1915 - April 23, 1993 ) was a Swiss sports marksman .

successes

Robert Bürchler took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki . With the free rifle, he finished second in the three-position battle over 300 m behind Anatoly Bogdanov and thus won the silver medal.

Bürchler secured a total of 24 medals at world championships between 1947 and 1954 and was world champion ten times. In 1947 he won the gold medal in Stockholm with the free rifle in the prone position as well as in team competitions with the free rifle in three-position combat and with the small-bore rifle in the kneeling position. Two years later he was in Buenos Aires , kneeling with the small bore, also in the individual world champion. He won his other world championship titles in 1952 in Oslo in various team competitions: in the three-position fight, he took first place with the free rifle, the army rifle, the standard rifle and the small-bore rifle, as well as with the small-bore rifle in standing and lying position. In addition, Bürchler won eight silver and six bronze medals.
