Robert Beachboard
Robert Beachboard (born December 30, 1909 in Berkeley , † January 2, 1998 ) was an American Romanist .
Life
Beachboard received his doctorate in Paris in 1939 with the work Le Théâtre de Maeterlinck aux Etats-Unis (Paris 1951). He did military service and landed in Operation Dragoon in Saint-Tropez in 1944 . Beachboard was Professor of French Cultural Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara from 1946 to 1947 .
