Robert G. Harrington

Robert G. Harrington (* 1904 ; † 1987 ) is an American astronomer .

Robert G. Harrington is a co-discoverer of several comets, including 43P / Wolf-Harrington , 51P / Harrington , 52P / Harrington-Abell and 107P / Wilson-Harrington . Together with Fritz Zwicky , he discovered the globular cluster Palomar 12 .

Robert G. Harrington is not to be confused with Robert Sutton Harrington (1942-1993), who was also an astronomer, but later worked and worked at the United States Naval Observatory , while Robert G. Harrington was active at the Palomar Observatory . The asteroid (3216) Harrington was not named after Robert G. Harrington, but after Robert Sutton Harrington.
