Robert Groslot

Robert Groslot (* 1951 in Mechelen , Belgium ) is a Belgian pianist , conductor and composer . He teaches piano and chamber music at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. There he was director of the conservatory from 1996 to 2001. In 1991 Robert Groslot founded the Il Novecento symphony orchestra . With this orchestra he performed at Night Of The Proms in various European countries until 2015 .

biography

Robert Groslot began his career as a pianist. He completed his piano studies through courses with Leon Fleisher and Alexis Weissenberg at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp . After completing his studies, Groslot undertook numerous concert tours through Europe as well as Israel, Asia, Africa, New Zealand and the United States.

After his concert tours, he began his career as a conductor and director of the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and trained many young musicians from Belgium and abroad. He also worked as a conductor with numerous orchestras:

Robert Groslot is mainly known for his position as conductor and founder of the orchestra "II Novecento" in Germany, which plays annually at Night Of The Proms . After 880 concerts of the Night Of The Proms , he ended his conducting activity for this concert series in 2015.

Today Groslot is mainly active as a composer. He writes a variety of pieces for solo instruments such as piano , violin and cello .
