Robert Hubert

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert Hubert (born February 9, 1908 in Alençon , France , † July 1978 in Paris ) was a French film architect .

Live and act

Hubert received his artistic training at the École Boulle in Paris . In 1932 he joined the film industry as an assistant set designer and worked in this position alongside important colleagues such as Lazare Meerson , Jean Perrier and Serge Pimenoff . Just two years later, Hubert was allowed to set up the equipment and build the film himself. Initially, he had to be content with executing the designs of renowned colleagues such as Pimenoff's buildings for Mayerling and “ Spione von Saloniki ”. Robert Hubert's own building designs were often of a conventional nature, only rarely did they impress with their own signature or even uniqueness. Robert Hubert, who was a member of the festival jury at the Cannes Film Festival in 1947 , withdrew from the film business as early as 1958 .
