Jean Perrier

Jean Barthelemy Perrier (born August 31, 1884 in Paris , † November 26, 1942 in Joinville ) was a French film architect .

Live and act

Perrier worked as an assistant set designer at the beginning of the 20th century , before joining cinematography in 1905 . His first function was that of a set painter at the production company Gaumont , after the First World War he was appointed as a film architect.

In the early years up to 1938, Jean Perrier worked primarily for the (mostly secondary) films by director Raymond Bernard , but he also designed the decorations for some important productions by leading filmmakers such as Abel Gance ( The End of the World ), Julien Duvivier ( Das Cross of Golgotha ), Sacha Guitry (among others The Pearls of the Crown ), Jean Renoir ( The Marseillaise , La Marseillaise ), Maurice Tourneur ( Volpone ) and Henri Decoin (for example your first rendezvous ).
