Robert Ide
Robert Ide (* 1975 in Marienberg ) is a German journalist and author.
Life
Ide studied political science in Berlin and did research on the history of the GDR . He is the managing editor at Der Tagesspiegel . From 2013 to 2019 he headed the Berlin / Brandenburg editorial team there; previously he was head of the sports department between 2007 and 2012. Among other things, he received the reportage award of the Academy for Journalism . Robert Ide is an expert on GDR history and in 2019 was responsible for the campaigns, events and special editions of the Tagesspiegel on 30 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Ide is also the author of the Berlin newsletter Checkpoint . He became known as the author of the book Divided Dreams , in which he describes the generation conflict between young and older East Germans after the fall of the Wall. He lives in Berlin and is a volunteer in the allotment garden association Bornholm I eV , since November 2019 as chairman. He also coordinates the voluntary campaign “Something is growing” to open up and preserve Berlin's allotment gardens.
