Robert Kratz

Robert Kratz (born May 10, 1898 in the Eisenach district , † September 27, 1978 in Weimar ) was a German deaf activist . Robert Kratz was involved in founding the ReGeDe in 1927 , and in 1957 he founded the German Association of the Deaf .

Robert Kratz was born into a family of farm workers. At the age of nine he lost his hearing due to illness and was therefore sent to the Weimar asylum for the deaf and dumb.
