Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Plot

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy (English Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy ) is a video game based on the Bourne universe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 . The 3rd person action game was released in Germany on June 27, 2008. The Sierra Entertainment title was developed by High Moon Studios and published by Vivendi Games .

Video game

The video game adaptation is not - as might be expected - a film adaptation, but a reference to the books of Robert Ludlum, who died in 2001 . Therefore, Hollywood actor Matt Damon , who embodies Bourne in the films, is not implemented in the game. The actor doesn't lend the video game counterpart either his looks or his voice.

Robert Ludlum's Das Bourne Plot is expected to represent the first part of a Bourne games trilogy and its content is based on both Robert Ludlum's bestsellers and the first of the three Bourne films - The Bourne Identity (2002).

From the previous press reports it emerges that, analogous to the film and book templates, an action-oriented plot is in the foreground. The player takes on the role of the elite government agent Jason Bourne , who was once trained as a professional killer by the CIA . The story, which was specially conceived for the game by Tony Gilroy (screenwriter of the three Bourne films), is reminiscent of the first part of the film trilogy: the agent drifts half-dead in the sea off Marseille and wakes up on the beach with amnesia. From now on, the player in the person of Bourne has to reveal the secret of his identity in front of the scenes of Marseille , Zurich and Paris .

The multi-level demo illustrates the three different game modes of the title. In the first level the player is introduced to the fighting techniques of the game and uses his fists to fight his way out of a consulate building. The second level plays like a 3rd person shooter. The player then drives a Mini Cooper through Paris.

Censorship of the German version

Ragdoll behavior (especially with corpses) was severely restricted. It is no longer possible to throw opponents from a moving train or from an airplane. The sound of bones bursting can no longer be heard. Contrary to previous assumptions, the blood effects were not reduced. Bourne, like the person opposite, spits blood, their faces are marked by the fight, and gunfire creates clouds of blood. Blood splatters can also be seen on the entry and exit wounds during the shot takedowns. The amount of blood as well as the frequency is identical to the uncensored version.
