Robert Margot

Robert Paul Margot (born April 24, 1967 in Geneva ) is a former Swiss basketball player .

career

Margot (1.86 meters, development player) played for 20 years (1985 to 2005) in the National League A and played 65 international matches for Switzerland. He played for Neuchâtel, Pully, Versoix, Nyon and Meyrin-Grand-Saconnex in the top division of Switzerland, most of which was in Nyon (1998 to 2003). As a teenager he had played as an exchange student at a high school in San Francisco , California . In the elimination round for the 1997 European Championship, Margot was the best thrower of the national team with an average of 12.3 points per encounter.

In Nyon he held the post of assistant coach in 2005/06 and also briefly looked after the team as head coach. Later he was a trainer at Meyrin-Grand-Saconnex and in 2011/12 at Bernex. In 2008 he took over the position of Technical Director at the Grand-Saconnex BBC.
