Robert Rosenthal (film distributor)
Robert Rosenthal (born June 9, 1884 in Basel ; † March 5, 1937 there ) was a Swiss film producer and distributor .

Rosenthal was the son of a German mining engineer and founded "EOS-Film" in Basel in 1912, which was initially concerned with manufacturing. In 1917, for example, he produced the silent film The Swiss Army -L'Armée Suisse on behalf of the Swiss Army . Georges Passavant later bought the film rights from Rosenthal. During this time Rosenthal took over the Pararmount production for Switzerland, and later also the UFA production. From 1920 Rosenthal also worked as a film distributor and owned several cinemas.
Rosenthal died in Basel at the age of 53. He was succeeded by his brother Rudolf Rosenthal-Bielser.
