Robert Sweeting

Robert Sweeting (born June 5, 1987 in Sarasota , Florida ) is a retired American cyclist .

Sweeting joined the AEG Toshiba Jetnetwork Pro Cycling Team in 2007 and won a stage of the Greenville Tour . In 2008 he won a section of The Piedmont Triad Omnium and the French Broad Cycling Classic and was runner-up in the U23 US time trial championships . For the 2009 season he moved to Team Land Rover-Orbea and won the Archer Time Trial and The Swamp Classic . In 2010 he won the overall standings of the Tour of Connecticut and finished third in the individual time trial at the national championships for drivers without a contract. For the 2011 season he signed with Team Kenda-Gear Grinder and was able to celebrate his first success on the UCI America Tour by winning the second stage of the Tour of Elk Grove . In the last year of his international career, 2015, he won a stage of the Vuelta Independencia Nacional República Dominicana .
