Robert Thürmer

Robert Thürmer (born July 15, 1939 in Zuckmantel ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Robert Thürmer attended high school in Löbau . From 1958 to 1961 a teaching degree followed in Potsdam . Between 1962 and 1972 he worked as a teacher in Großpostwitz . The external doctorate took place in 1971. From 1972 to 1979 he was a university teacher in Potsdam. Between 1979 and 1992 Thürmer worked at the Academy of Sciences, at the Institute for Geography and Geoecology, most recently as a research group leader. In 1986 the habilitation took place. From 1992 he was research project manager at the Institute for Regional and DIY Store Development in Leipzig.

Thürmer is married and has two children.

Robert Thürmer was non-party until he joined the SPD in November 1989. From 1992 he was sub-district chairman of the SPD Leipzig.

In October 1994, Thürmer entered the Saxon state parliament via the state list of the SPD Saxony , of which he was a member for an electoral period until 1999. There he was a member of the committee for economics and universities, culture and media.
