Robert Wagenhoffer

Robert Wagenhoffer (born July 5, 1960 , † December 13, 1999 in Torrance , California ) was an American figure skater who started in single and pair skating .

Life

In 1979 Wagenhoffer was US runner-up in pair skating with Vicki Heasley . In the same year he took part in his first world championship and his only pair skating. The couple took sixth place. In 1981 Wagenhoffer was third in the national championships and tenth in the world championships . In 1982 he was national runner-up behind Scott Hamilton and made it to sixth place at the world championship . Then he ended his amateur career and switched to the professionals. He toured with the ice revue Ice Capades and appeared in several other ice shows. He was also committed to the fight against AIDS . He succumbed to the consequences of this disease at the age of 39.
