Robert Weber (* 1926 ; † 2008 ) was an American astronomer and asteroid explorer.
He worked at the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1962 and 1996 . There he developed shortly before his retirement in 1996, the precursor of the LINEAR -project and discovered at Lincoln Laboratory ETS in Socorro in the US state of New Mexico between 1995 and 1996 a total of eight asteroids .
The asteroid (6181) Bobweber was named after him in 2008.
