Footnotes

  1. The spelling of the name differs from source to source. The database Sports Reference he is Robert van de r Graaf, de WorldRowing at Robert van Graaf, the Dutch Wikipedia Ro b van bert de Graaf. The ambiguity is heightened by the fact that the Dutch four-man from 1964 had three rowers with similar surnames, but at least because of their date of birth they cannot be directly related to each other. While for Jan and Frederik the surname according to SportsReference and according to Dutch Wikipedia is van de Graa f f, WorldRowing and for example on page 760 in Volker Kluge's standard work are called Summer Olympics. Chronicle II. All three rowers van de Graaf. The spelling in the German language Wikipedia largely follows the image texts that were uploaded to Commons by the Dutch Nationaal Archief with the photos. Unfortunately, these image descriptions are not entirely clear either.
