Roberto Gil , full name José Roberto Gil Velo , (* in the 20th century) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Gil played for the Rampla Juniors from 1961 to 1967 . In the 1968 season he was in the Primera División in the squad of Club Atlético Peñarol . His club won the Uruguayan Championship that season. From 1969 to 1971 he was active for the Racing Club de Montevideo . Between 1972 and 1974 he worked for Huracán Buceo . This was followed by a career at Bella Vista in 1975 . 1977 to 1978 he is listed as a player for Club Atlético Rentistas .

National team

Gil was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he played from his debut on May 6, 1964 in a 2-1 defeat by the English national team to his last appearance on May 15, 1966 as part of the Copa Artigas in a 2-2 -Draw against Paraguay, completed a total of eight international matches. He did not score an international goal. Among other things, he was used in the two World Cup qualifiers against the selection of Peru on June 6 and 13, 1965. The other opponents in the international matches with his participation were Austria (May 14, 1964), the USSR (May 20, 1964), the GDR (January 3, 1965) and Paraguay (April 25, 1965).
