The Roberts Inlet is a bay in the southern Antarctic Weddell Sea . It is one of the three bays on the east side of the Berkner Island, which is surrounded by the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf .
Scientists at the US Ellsworth Station under the direction of the US polar explorer Finn Ronne discovered them during overflights and reconnaissance marches between 1957 and 1958. Ronne named them after Elliott B. Roberts, head of the geophysical department of the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey as well Chairman of the US Committee for Conducting Geomagnetic Surveys as part of the International Geophysical Year (1957–1958).
