from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robin CE Devenish (* 1943 ) is a British experimental physicist who studies high-energy physics of strong interaction .

Devenish received his PhD from Cambridge University and was from 1979 at Hertford College, Oxford University , where he is Fellow, Dean and Professor of Physics. He worked in experiments on the storage rings DORIS and PETRA at DESY and then on the HERA experiment there on deep inelastic electron-proton scattering (ZEUS detector).

In 2009 he received the Max Born Prize for "his key role in determining the structural function of the proton and the derivation of the quark and gluon densities with small parton momentum, which led to significant advances in the understanding of quantum chromodynamics ".
