Robin Polák

Robin Polák (* 1978 in Prague ) is a German director and screenwriter.

Life

Three years after his birth, his family emigrated to Germany. Polák has lived in Berlin since 1984 . After graduating from high school, he worked as a setrunner and sound engineer for international films, completed internships and a traineeship at MTV . He then shot various short films, trailers and advertisements and, as a director, realized two seasons of the MTV series Ulmen's commission with Nora Tschirner and Christian Ulmen . Polák later shot his short film Alice in No Man's Land, also with Tschirner and Ulmen. In 2015 Polák shot the short film Oskarreif with Devid Striesow in the lead role, which celebrated its German premiere at the Max Ophüls Festival. In 2016 the short film Speechless with Heike Makatsch was made, which was voted best short film of 2016 at the international Cambridge Film Festival.
