Rocco Benetton

Rocco Benetton (born September 29, 1969 in Treviso , Italy) is an Italian manager and entrepreneur, the youngest son of the fashion designer Luciano Benetton and Maria Teresa Benetton. His wife is Judith Soltsez-Benetton.

Life

After studying mechanical engineering at Boston University , he worked in New York, first at the hedge fund “Oppenheimer & Co.” and then at “Alpha Investment Management”, where he worked his way up from consultant, then partner, to managing director .

In September 1997 he moved to England and, after the departure of Flavio Briatore , became manager of the Formula 1 team at Benetton under David Richards . After Richards also left the dispute, Rocco was appointed team boss in September 1998 without any experience in racing. Under him, the team scored fewer successes and was at the beginning of 2000 Renault sold. His successor there was Briatore again.

Then he went back to Treviso. There he founded the companies "Zero Rh +" (glasses and sportswear business) and "Oot Group" (advertising agency). In autumn 2002, Rocco Benetton became chairman of the Internet company "Espotting.it" ( Keyword advertising division , today's name " Miva ").

He is the official sponsor of Ernesto Bertarelli's Alinghi sailing team .
