The skirt X is a 650 m long, the coast upstream rocky cliff on the east side of the entrance to Victor Bay and 1.5 km northwest of the Grave Noire rock in the East Antarctic Adélie Land .

Aerial photographs of the rock were taken by the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). It was mapped during the French Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1952 to 1953 and which also set up an astronomical observation station here. It was named after the formation was marked with an X on the US Navy aerial photographs .
