Coordinates: 32 ° 17 ′ S , 115 ° 44 ′ E The City of Rockingham is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Rockingham belongs to the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area is 257 km² and has about 125,000 inhabitants (2016).
Rockingham is located on the south-west end of Perth on the coast and is approximately 35 to 55 kilometers from Perth city center. The City Council is located in the Rockingham district, where around 14,500 people live (2016).

The Rockingham Council has ten members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (four each from Rockingham and Safety Bay Ward, one each from Baldivis and Coastal Ward). The mayor (mayor) and council chairman is also elected by all residents of the city.
