Roderich Moessner

Roderich Moessner is a German solid-state physicist. Since 2007 he has been Director at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden and a Scientific Member of the Max Planck Society

Moessner studied physics at Oxford University , where he also received his doctorate in theoretical physics. From 1997 to 1998 he was employed at New College , Oxford, and between 1998 and 2001 he was a postdoc at Princeton University . From 2001 to 2006 he conducted research at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique at the École normal supérieure , Paris, and at the Center National de la Recherche Scientifique. During his studies he received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . He was "Divisional Associate Editor" of the Physical Review Letters and until the end of 2015 a member of the board of directors of the German Physical Society (DPG) . Moessner has been a member of the DPG board since May 1, 2020, where he is responsible for publications.

Since 2008 he has been an honorary professor at the TU Dresden.
