Rodrigo Barbosa

Rodrigo Barbosa (born September 30, 1988 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian racing car driver .

Career

After Barbosa had started his motorsport career in karting , he switched to formula racing in 2005 and competed in two races of the Brazilian Formula Renault . In 2006 he stayed in this championship and finished the season in 19th place overall. In 2007 he moved to North America and finished fifth in the southern division of SCCA Formula Atlantic . In the final runoff , which was attended by drivers from all divisions, he came in ninth.

After a one-year hiatus, Barbosa switched to Indy Lights in 2009 and competed for ELFF Racing , which took part in the racing series for the first time since 1993. He finished the season with a tenth place as the best result in 15th place in the drivers' standings. This season he was the worst-placed driver of all the drivers who competed at each race weekend. In 2010 Barbosa switched to PDM Racing . Barbosa remained the worst overall ranking of the drivers who competed in every race that season, despite finishing in the top ten in five races. His best results were three ninth places. He finished twelfth in the drivers' championship.
