Roger Knapman (born February 20, 1944 in Crediton , Devon ) is a British politician of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).

Life

Knapman graduated from the Royal Agricultural University . He works as a real estate appraiser in England. From June 11, 1987 to May 1, 1997 Knapman was a member of the Conservative Party in the House of Commons . From July 1995 to July 1996 he was deputy whip of the Tories. From July 1996 to May 1997 he was Lord Commissioner (HP Treasury) and thus assistant to the first Lord of the Treasury. From October 5, 2002 to September 27, 2006 he was the successor to Jeffrey Titford chairman of the United Kingdom Independence Party. He was followed in 2006 as party leader Nigel Farage . From June 10, 2004 to June 4, 2009 Knapman was a member of the European Parliament . Since June 5, 2008 he was non-attached until he left parliament. He is married and has two children.
