Paul Nuttall (born November 30, 1976 in Bootle , Merseyside ) is a British politician of the Brexit party . Previously, he was, among other things, chairman of the UK Independence Party (UKIP).

Life

Nuttall attended Savio Catholic High School and Hugh Baird College in his hometown; He then earned a Masters in Sports Science from North Lincolnshire College before earning BA and MA in history from Edge Hill College and Liverpool Hope University . From 2008 to 2010 he was party chairman of UKIP, then deputy of his successor Nigel Farage . Nuttall has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 . There he is a member of the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. He is a deputy member of the Committee for Culture and Education. Nuttall advocates the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union . In line with UKIP policy, he speaks out against political correctness .

On November 28, 2016, after the resignation of Nigel Farage and his successor Diane James, who resigned after 18 days, Nuttall was elected party leader with 62.6% of the delegate's votes against his competitors Suzanne Evans and John Rees-Evans . Peter Whittle , MP for the London City Council , became his deputy.
