Roger Revelle Medal

The Roger Revelle Medal is an award from the American Geophysical Union and is awarded annually. The medal honors the recipient for outstanding contributions in the fields of atmospheric science, atmospheric-ocean coupling, biochemical cycles, climatology and related topics.

The Roger Revelle Medal was established in 1991 and named after Roger Revelle , who made significant contributions to the understanding of man-made climate change. Revelle improved the understanding in the fields of climatology, especially with regard to the balance between atmospheric CO 2 and the concentration of carbonic acid in the oceans and the resulting consequences for man-made climate change.
