The Rohr in Bern are several families , probably all from Aargau , who settled in Bern in the 16th and early 17th centuries.

The Rohr family name has been attested in Bern since the 15th century. The oldest family, which is still flourishing today in the Schmieden Society , can be traced back to the tailor Sebastian Rohr († 1595), Governor of Schenkenberg and monastery conductor.

The younger gender belonging to the Middle Lions Society goes back to the tailor Martin Rohr from Staufen , who married Maria Bäckli in Bern in 1604 and received citizenship rights from Bern in 1609 . The Rohr from Staufen were later downgraded to permanent residents, but the brothers Emanuel Rohr (1725–1807) and Samuel Rohr (1727–1819) again obtained unrestricted citizenship rights through an official document in 1768.
