Karl Jakob Rohr

Karl Jakob Rohr (baptized 1790 in Kirchleerau ; † April 12, 1863 in Bern ) was a Swiss doctor.

He was the son of Pastor Emanuel Rohr (1757–1811) and Sophia Margaretha Elisabeth Siegfried from Zofingen . He was the uncle of the benefactor Georg Emanuel Ludwig Ziegler . Rohr studied at the academy in Bern and Berlin. In 1815 he was commissioned to set up and run a military hospital in the former Frienisberg monastery . In 1823 he married Maria Elisabeth Gruner in Bolligen. He later became head of the outpatient hospital in Bern and was also a member of the Inselkollegium .
