Roin Magaltadze

Roin Magaltadze (born August 23, 1941 in Doesi , Kaspi , Georgian SSR ) is a former Soviet judoka who was European champion in 1968.

In 1966 Magaltadze reached the final in the weight class up to 80 kilograms at the world championships for students in Prague and received the silver medal behind the Japanese Isamu Sonoda . In 1968 at the European Championships in Lausanne Magaltadze won in the weight class up to 70 kilograms, where he defeated his Georgian compatriot Otari Natelashvili in the final . At the European Championships in 1969 in Ostend, Magaltadze was part of the Soviet team that won the bronze medal behind the Germans and the Dutch.
