The Rokugō ( Japanese 六 郷 氏 , Rokugō-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ), which was derived from the Fujiwara. With an income of 20,000 Koku , the Rokugō residing in Yurihonjō ( Akita Prefecture ) belonged to the smaller Tozama daimyō of the Edo period .

genealogy

  • Masanori ( 政 乗 ; 1576-1634), Michiyuki's son, owned the Rokugō domain in Semboku County ( Dewa Province ) and initially served, like his ancestors, the Onodera. In 1588 he took part in the campaign of his master Onodera Yoshimichi against Akita Sanesue and was defeated. After the fall of Onodera, he joined Toyotomi Hideyoshi , who appointed him daimyo in 1602 and gave him the domain of Fuchu ( Hitachi ) with 10,000 koku. In 1623 he was transferred to Honjō (Dewa) with 20,000 Koku, where he and his descendants resided until 1868. Then Vice Count .
