Roland Feldmann
Roland Feldmann (born December 29, 1956 in Ronneburg , † May 15, 1988 near Hirschberg (Saale) ) was a fatality on the inner-German border .
Life
Roland Feldmann and his wife lived in Gera . After they were informed on May 13, 1988 that their application to leave the GDR had no chance, they tried together in the early morning of May 15, 1988, with two of their three children in a stolen Barkas B 1000 to cross the border in the area of the border crossing Rudolphstein / Hirschberg to be overcome. After breaking through the pre-control barrier, the vehicle crashed into the lowered barrier, killing Roland Feldmann. His wife and children were seriously injured. After her recovery, Ms. Feldmann was imprisoned in Hoheneck Detention Center from April to December 1989 .
