Roland Flach (born October 31, 1944 in Enkhausen ) is a German industrial manager.

Life

Roland Flach completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. He then graduated from the state scientific social academy in Dortmund .

Act

Flach was employed by various companies in the department store sector from 1963 to 1989 and most recently managed almost all the subsidiaries of the Hertie department store group. After a few years of self-employment in the field of electrical trading, including as a member of the board of the then Nürnberger Bund eG iI (Flach took on this task on behalf of the insolvency administrator of the cooperative), Flach joined WCM AG in 1999 . He brought the former Nürnberger Bund (AG) into the shareholdings of WCM, of which he became Chairman of the Board in 2001. At the same time, Flach took on mandates as supervisory board chairman or member of the supervisory board of various affiliated companies of WCM AG.

In February 2006, he resigned from the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Klöckner Werke AG and, in addition to the same tasks at WCM AG, took over as CEO of Klöckner Werke AG. Against the background of the impending insolvency of WCM AG, Flach announced his resignation as its chairman on October 26, 2006, but retained the chairmanship of Klöckner-Werke. On January 31, 2009, he resigned from the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KHS AG in order to manage the business of KHS AG as Chairman of the Executive Board in addition to his duties at the parent company Klöckner Werke AG.

Roland Flach retired on January 1, 2012. He had already handed over his position as CEO of the subsidiary KHS AG to Matthias Niemeyer on January 12, 2011. Flach has been a member of the KHS Supervisory Board since January 2011. On May 23, 2013, Flach was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG .
