Roland May (actor)

Roland May (* 1955 ) is a German actor, theater director and artistic director of the Plauen-Zwickau theater .

May was an actor and director at the Dresden State Theater in the mid to late 1980s . Among other things, he staged in 1987 with the painter and set designer HG Griese Farewell Judas by Ireneusz Iredynski. That same year, May played under Wolfgang Engel the Pozzo in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot . Engels Godot performance was the first of the GDR theater. In addition to May, Peter Kube , Tom Pauls , Lars Jung and Matthias Nagatis played in the production. In the 2009/10 season, May moved from Theater Zittau to Theater Plauen-Zwickau as artistic director, where she took over as general director.
