plant

Schappert's painterly and graphic work is characterized by great media heterogeneity: oil paintings and works on paper alternate with photographs, wall works or alienated posters in which the artist explores the relationship between reality, poetic description and image creation. With language games and ambiguous motifs, he creates ambivalent references that include different viewers' perspectives. In addition, Schappert prefers to work site-specifically, as his project for the Franklin Village Mannheim or his interventions in the former Capitol Theater Düsseldorf (both 2016) testify.
