Rolandbund

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rolandbund was a federation to secure the market sovereignty of the empire on the basis of the free economics of Silvio Gesell .

Origin and effective period

The Rolandbund was founded on May 1, 1933 by Wilhelm Radecke . Appointed spokesmen for the magazine Schule der Freiheit and the Federation for Crisis-Free Economics , published by Otto Lautenbach, were represented in it; the first by Franz Hochstetter and the second by Otto Weißleder. Radecke did not choose the founding date very cleverly. Since the Nazis to May 1 for National Labor Day had appointed, this made it difficult to support politically conscious workers. Within the NSDAP, however, the idea of a free economy gained great popularity after it was founded. The organization management imposed a membership ban to keep careerists and economic knights away in order to preserve idealism. Through contact with Heinrich Himmler , who was an old "school friend" and also a sympathizer of his idea, Radecke was able to inspire other high-ranking members of the NSDAP such as Joseph Goebbels and Ernst Röhm with his conviction. Above all, convincing Röhm seemed to promote the expected breakthrough. Röhm wanted to enable Radecke to meet with Adolf Hitler . The hoped-for telegram from Hitler did not materialize, however, who declined to talk to Radecke.

End of the Rolandbund

The murder of Röhm on June 30, 1934 brought an early end to the Rolandbund. Apparently he was forced to dissolve himself shortly afterwards.
