Rolf Hurschmann

Rolf Hurschmann is a German classical archaeologist .

Rolf Hurschmann received his doctorate in 1983 from the University of Hamburg with a thesis on the subject of symposium scenes on Lower Italian vases . Even after that, he mainly dealt with Greek vase painting , worked on the Lower Italian vases of the Winckelmann Institute and later as a research assistant at the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum Germany (until 2010) the Lower Italian vases of the sculpture collection of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden . In addition, he wrote many of the articles on this topic for the New Pauly .
