Lower Italian vase painting

Under Italian vase painting , also West Greek vase painting , one understands the vase painting of the Greeks residing in southern Italy and Sicily ( Magna Graecia ).

The sub-Italian vases are divided into five main manufacturers:

• Apulian
• Campanian
• Lucanian
• paestanic
• sicilian

The New Zealand archaeologist Arthur D. Trendall played a key role in their research .
