In archeology, the Centuripe genus is a form of colorfully painted ceramic from Sicily from the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. Chr.

The Centuripe genus was named after the main locality Centuripe . Vessel types other than pyxis , lebes and lekanis are rarely painted. The tone of the large vessels, which are 50 cm high on average and consist of individually manufactured, nested parts, is orange. The tempera paints are only applied to one side . It can be white, pink, black, yellow, red, gold, less often blue or green. Acanthus , tendrils and architectural friezes as well as heads and busts predominate in the motifs . The repertoire of picture themes is limited. Scenes other than women and eros or wedding pictures are seldom shown, then they are theater scenes or images of gods, with Dionysus predominating.
