Brigitte Birnbaum

Brigitte Birnbaum (born May 29, 1938 in Elbing ) is a German writer, children's and young adult book author.

After graduating from high school, Birnbaum trained as a pharmacy assistant. She then studied literature for three years at the Leipzig Literature Institute , after which she became an antiquarian bookseller. She has been a freelance writer in Schwerin since 1968. From 2003 she lived in Hamburg , since 2013 she has lived in Schwerin again.
