For this purpose, the joint venture Rolf Kauka Comics , based in Kerken , existed from 2002 to 2009 and operated under the name “Kauka Promedia” until mid-2008.

The company had its origins in the Kauka Verlag, founded in 1951 in Munich, later in Grünwald near Munich. In 1973 the founder Rolf Kauka sold his publishing house to an Anglo-Dutch consortium made up of VNU and IPC , but bought the publishing house back in 1979. At the end of 1979, Kauka Verlag became a company that only dealt with license rights . In the same year, Rolf Kauka issued the licenses for his characters to the publishing union Pabel-Moewig , which he called back at the end of 1994 because of differing views on the appearance and design of his magazine Fix and Foxi. Bussi Bär was still allowed to publish Pabel-Moewig. When Rolf Kauka left Germany for health reasons in 1982 and moved to the USA, he converted Kauka Verlag into Promedia, Inc.

After the termination of the license agreement with Pabel-Moewig, Kauka granted the license to his series Fix and Foxi to Ravensburger AG and its subsidiary RTV Family Entertainment AG in order to also implement Fix & Foxi as an animated series for television. At the end of 1999 his wife Alexandra Kauka took over the management of the company. Rolf Kauka died on September 13, 2000 in Thomasville.

After the contracts with RTV Family Entertainment AG had expired , the joint venture Kauka Promedia was founded in 2002 with Andromeda Central Community Medien GmbH by the Lower Rhine media manager Michael Semrad. The Andromeda Central Community Medien GmbH took over the operational business in the following period and appeared in relation to the Kauka characters under the name Kauka Promedia . Since the end of 2007, after 25 years , Kauka Promedia was again represented with a registered office in Munich. While the marketing of the characters continued to be the main purpose of Kauka Promedia , the activities were expanded to include an independent comic production, industrial drawing, filming (Fix and Foxi Kino Film, Pauli TV series) and product trading. The Kauka Promedia was active in 30 countries.

At the request of Alexandra Kauka, the joint venture Kauka Promedia was renamed Rolf Kauka Comics in June 2008 . This was intended to bring the creator of the Kauka series, Rolf Kauka, more into focus. However, after the sudden death of Michael Semrad, the collaboration was terminated in March 2009 and the joint venture was dissolved. In 2013, Alexandra Kauka handed over the management of Promedia, Inc. to Dr. Stefan Lade, but remained President and CEO until the company ceased its business activities in 2014 after the sale of all rights of use for the Kauka characters to Your Family Entertainment AG by Austrian media entrepreneur Stefan Piëch.
