Rolf Knobel

Rolf Knobel (born February 26, 1963 ) is a Swiss chess player and physicist .

On the first board Rolf Knobel won the final of the 12th Correspondence Chess Olympiad of the world correspondence chess Federal ICCF , 2003 he was awarded the title Correspondence Chess - Grandmaster awarded. He is the trainer of several Swiss junior champions of the Zug Chess Club and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Zug Youth Chess Foundation. In Nahschess, Knobel has an Elo rating of 2260 (as of July 2016), but he is listed as inactive because he has not played a rated game since 1989.
