Rolf Presthus
Rolf Presthus (born July 29, 1936 in Oslo , † January 1, 1988 ) was a Norwegian conservative politician and lawyer.
education and profession
In 1962 he finished his law studies . He then worked as a lawyer in various positions until 1988.
Political career
In 1957 he was chairman of the youth organization Unge Høyre in the former Akershus province . Presthus was a member of Oppegård's local parliament from 1959 to 1975 . From 1966 to 1970 he was a member of the executive committee of his party. Between 1968 and 1969 he was the mayor of the place. From 1963 to 1971 he was a Member of the Fylkesting of Akershus. In 1969 he moved into the Norwegian Parliament in Storting for the first time . There he represented Akershus until 1989. From 1970 to 1972 he was chairman of the Høyre party in Akershus.
On October 14, 1981, Presthus was appointed Minister of Finance. On April 25, 1986, he moved to the Ministry of Defense. He left the government on May 9, 1986. He was then party chairman until his death.
