Rolf Schneider (born May 3, 1936 in Bern ; legal resident in Obersteckholz BE) is a Swiss politician in the canton of Bern ( FDP. The Liberals ). From 1982 to 1990 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern .

education and profession

Rolf Schneider studied economics in Bern and Bordeaux and graduated with a licentiate and a commercial teacher examination. Professionally, Rolf Schneider worked from 1960 to 1992 as a teacher for economics and law at the commercial vocational school in Bern, today's business and management school in Bern (WKS KV Bildung), from 1967 also as a lecturer in economics and economic policy at the higher commercial college HKG, the today's HFW. From 1992 until his retirement in autumn 2001 he headed the HWV Higher School of Economics and Administration in Bern, where he also lectured in economics.

Politician

Rolf Schneider began his political career at an early age in the Bern youth parliament, which he also presided over. The entry into real politics took place in 1972 after the family moved to Hinterkappelen in the municipality of Wohlen near Bern, where he still lives today. He served from 1973 to 1981 as a local councilor. Vice-President (1980/81) for the FDP.

In 1982 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern, to which he belonged for two legislative periods. From 1986 to 1992 he chaired the FDP of the Canton of Bern.
