Rolf Wiese
Rolf Wiese (* 1952 in De Heid ) is a German curator and former museum director.
Life
From 1974 to 1979 he studied business administration (degree: Diplomkaufmann ) at the University of Hamburg . From 1979 to 1981 he was an assistant at the Chair of Industrial Management and Controlling in Hamburg . He completed his studies (1979–1984) in folklore at the University of Hamburg with a doctorate on 19th century farmhouses in the Harburg district. From 1985 to 1988 he was a museum and monument curator in the Harburg district . From 1988 to 2017 he was the museum director of the Freilichtmuseum am Kiekeberg and initiator of the museum management course at the University of Hamburg. He taught as a lecturer at the University of Hamburg (1999 professor (§ 17 HmbHG) for Folklore), FU Berlin , University of Kiel , University of Göttingen . Since 2016 he has been chairman of the Lower Saxony / Bremen Museum Association.
