A Rollboard (plural: Roll Boarder, v. Tight. : To roll "wrap" and board "Board"; partially misnamed Rollbord ) is a variant of the bed enclosure , which in horticulture is often used.

construction

A rollboard is a semicircular piece of wood that is usually connected with galvanized wire . Either impregnated softwood or hardwood (pine, Bangkirai etc.) is used as the type of wood . The wood is connected by means of galvanized wire or stainless steel wire, which is attached to the pegs. The rollboarders are sold rolled up.

Trade sizes

Rollboarders are available in the usual heights of approx. 15 cm to over 60 cm. The length when rolled out can usually be from 150 cm to 250 cm.

use

Rollboarders are embedded in the ground to border the bed. This is done by digging a furrow and then backfilling or by evenly hammering the rollboard into the ground. Due to the connection of the individual palisades with wire, curves can also be formed. The round side of the wood is generally directed outwards, while the flat side faces the bed. The existing wire connection also ensures a stable connection between the embedded palisades.
