The Rollo Memorial is a memorial to the Viking Rollo in the Norwegian city of Ålesund .

It is located on a hill in the center of Ålesund City Park .

Rollo is considered to be the founder of Normandy . Against this background, the sculptor Arsène Letellier created a granite sculpture Rollos in 1863 , which was set up in a park in Rouen in Normandy. On the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Normandy in 1911, the idea arose to send a bronze cast of the figure to the region where Rollos was born in Ålesund. The 2.65 meter high bronze statue was placed in Ålesund's city park. Another cast was made of the granite sculpture, which is located in Fargo , North Dakota , USA .
